DON J. O'ROURKE, ARCHITECT, CSI
As the founding member of the firm, Don O’Rourke has been a registered architect since 1958 and president of the firm since its inception. He graduated from the Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Prior to practicing architecture, Don was an instructor with the Architecture & Civil Engineering departments from 1951-1960. Don has been a member of many local and national organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Past President of the South Louisiana AIA Chapter, Kappa Mu Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi Honor Engineering Association, Louisiana Engineering Society, Greater Southwest Mardi Gras Association, Member Emeritus and Selected King Gabriel XLVII 1986 (Krewe of Gabriel), Member of the Board of Directors – Acadiana CCA, Former member of LBA Savings Bank Board of Directors, and Former Consulting Architect for the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District for 5 years.
BRENT A. FRICK, ARCHITECT, CSI, NCARB
Brent Frick is the current Vice President of the firm and has been a registered architect since 2008. He earned top honors in the College of the Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 with a Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree. Brent began his professional career in 2004 with this firm. Brent is a current member of Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and has held multiple leadership positions with both the AIA and CSI at the local and state levels. Brent participated as a member of the inaugural class for the Emerging Leaders Institute sponsored by AIA and ACEC in 2015. He is also a member of the National Council of Architectural Examination Boards (NCARB) and volunteers as a committee member and coordinator for the Architecture Registration Exam (ARE) Test Writing Sub-committee.
GRAYDON ZANYK, ARCHITECT
Graydon joined Don O’Rourke & Associates in 2013 and recently received his license in 2018. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Master of Architecture (2010), a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (2008), and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (2006). In 2017, Graydon received the Herman Miller Scholarship for Healthcare Design and attended the Healthcare Design Expo & Conference in Orlando, Florida. Prior to pursuing a career in Architecture, Graydon was a Respiratory Therapist for over 22 years. His hands on medical background gives him unique and valuable perspective into the design and function of healthcare facilities. His background in analytical philosophy prepared him well to be a rational, inquisitive and perceptive designer that is willing to ask difficult questions and even more eager to seek the solutions to them.
JARED M. PETITJEAN, ARCHITECT, NCARB
Jared Petitjean joined Don O’Rouke and Associates in 2016 and has been a licensed architect since 2016. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Master of Architecture (2009) and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (2007). Jared is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Tau Sigma Delta honor societies, Eagle Scout, and participated as a member in 2016 class of the Emerging Leaders Institute sponsored by AIA and ACEC.
RENEÉ MELANCON, INTERN INTERIOR DESIGNER, ASID
Renee joined Don O’Rourke & Associates in 2014. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. Renee’ is an active member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). Prior to joining the firm, Renee worked as a design intern at Interior Fabric Shoppe where she help coordinate and select interior finishes, fabrics and hardware selections for customers in home projects. In addition to being a talented and energetic intern interior designer, she is a talented freelance photographer and dance teacher.
